Certainly Vernaccia di San Gimignano is not new to these performances, the desire to resist this unique wine for a thousand different reasons, from its versatility in combinations to the fact of going against all the stereotypes that accompany white wines, is revealed in the nineteenth century years of history, in the glories of the medieval and Renaissance period which was followed by a slow decline, until the almost disappearance of the early twentieth century. But it was able to rise again thanks to the courage and will of those who still produced it, and from having almost disappeared it managed in a short time to become the first wine in Italy to obtain the DOC in 1966, more unique than that!

Today Vernaccia of San Gimignano it is a modern wine that does not deny the past, from which its nobility, the pride and the character of an unconventional white wine originate. And it is one of the few Italian denominations declined in the feminine, which is why the enhancement campaign has given it the face of a woman in royal clothes, making her "The White Queen in a land of Red Kings". Truly unique clothes, which the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Wine Consortium has chosen according to its mantra: to grow we need to work with the territory and local production realities, the lifeblood of our uniqueness. The clothes chosen are by the young designer Asia Neri (aka Irene Mattei), born in Siena in 1985, considered by many to be an emerging talent even though she likes to call herself 'a textile artisan', who has made her creations available to dress Vernaccia, the white queen of Tuscan wines. With her dresses Asia Neri enhances the intimacy, beauty, strength and elegance of women, all characteristics of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, as well as the attention to sustainability and the craftsmanship of the production.
