Fundraising continues with great success "A DOCTOR AT HOME”, Organized by the Florentine association Pallium Onlus, based in Montedomini, which for almost 20 years has been providing home assistance to frail and seriously ill people. The charity collection aims to raise the funds necessary to increase the staff with a specialized doctor (general medicine, oncology or neurology). In this period of spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in fact, the shortage of medical personnel due to the serious health emergency and the consequent increased number of requests, risks making the specialized and free home care work carried out by us much more difficult.

Despite the critical period, the Association's medical team (doctors, nurses, physiotherapist and psychologist) has never stopped but today more than ever it is necessary to insert a new professional figure to continue to guarantee a home care service quality to cancer, neurological patients (also affected by degenerative diseases such as ALS) and the elderly in conditions of non-self-sufficiency.

To support the project "A DOCTOR AT HOME”It will be possible to make a contribution by joining the crowdfunding campaign activated on the Gofundme website and reachable at the link

SPECIALIST HOME ASSISTANCE: The assistance service is the basis of Pallium's activities. The type of intervention has some distinctive characteristics: the first is that the requirement for requesting assistance is not the type of disease, but the need. Pallium attends i cancer patients, those with neurological diseases degenerative (ALS) and the elderly in conditions of non-self-sufficiency (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, stroke and other cardiovascular or respiratory diseases). The second peculiarity is that patients are followed at any stage of the disease, even from the moment of diagnosis, in agreement with the General Practitioner

SUPPLY OF HEALTH PROTECTION:  articulated beds, anti-decubitus mattresses, lifters, wheelchairs, walkers as well as diapers and sleepers are provided at home by a team of 4 volunteers. requests are fulfilled within a maximum of 48 hours
