It is a bit like looking in the mirror and looking at the future, reflecting on the web the many identities that enrich the cultural and sporting offer of San Casciano and promoting them in a new virtual mode, accessible to all.

“In the context of the pandemic linked to Covid 19 - declares the councilor for Culture Maura Masini - the natural sharing of the various forms of cultural expression has failed and remains an indispensable and irreplaceable element. In this sense, the creativity expressed through ad hoc products on the web of which the Pomegranate simply represents a tangible example has proved to be precious. We worked to create an online archive capable of developing the promotional and distribution function of cultural and sports products and, why not, also capable of opening a corner for criticism and reviews ”.

A journey into the heritage of culture and sport of the territory that leads citizens to a series of squares where it is possible to become a spectator and visitor at the same time, observe, listen, share, keep fit while staying at home. The opportunities at home start with the first virtual tour through the rooms of the Giuliano Ghelli Museum in San Casciano, an expression of the network of the museum system of Chianti and the Florentine Valdarno. The web space shows a multiplicity of windows related to art, archeology, laboratory activities for children and artistic video narrations.

“They are videos made with the contribution of all those who work and revolve around our museum reality - explains the director of the Nicoletta Matteuzzi Museum - with which we highlight, using the advantages of multimedia, the projects created and the communication tools that we revisited to bring art closer to our community ".

The Pomegranate Museum section includes the video contributions that illustrate and guide the discovery and knowledge of the many masterpieces preserved in the museum rooms, with historical-artistic insights, information on artists and churches of origin, full of anecdotes and curious episodes. The opportunities extend to the online visit of the archaeological finds and sites in the municipal area, created with the collaboration of the Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of the Provinces of Florence, Pistoia and Prato. Other video documents allow you to explore the major architectural and historical-artistic testimonies of San Casciano, such as the medieval walls up to contemporary works of art. “We have also dedicated a section to educational activities aimed at children and students - continues the director - and to the experiences that involved citizens as protagonists of knowledge and witnesses of new artistic paths such as the project“ Paint in Words. Circular stories of Chianti and Valdarno ”. Pictures of real life that intertwine memory, art and history, the intimacy of the personal and autobiographical frescoes of the voices of the community that tell and describe the masterpieces of the Museum System through the culture of narration.
