"Spighe Verdi" is a FEE program, designed to guide rural municipalities, step by step, to choose land management strategies in a virtuous path that benefits the environment and the quality of life of the entire community.

"Spighe Verdi" is an effective tool of development of our rural heritage, rich in natural and cultural resources, also with a view to employment. In order for the program to achieve maximum results, two essential elements are needed: the willingness of the municipal administration to start a path of improvement and the participation of the community and of the companies, especially the agricultural ones, in its realization.

To bring the rural municipalities to the gradual adoption of the "Spighe Verdi" scheme, FEE Italia shared with Confagricoltura a set of indicators capable of photographing the land management policies and directing them towards criteria of maximum attention to the sustainability. Some indicators taken into consideration were: public participation; education for sustainable development; the correct use of the land; the presence of typical agricultural productions, sustainability and innovation in agriculture; the quality of the tourist offer; the existence and degree of functionality of purification plants; waste management with particular regard to recycling; the enhancement of the natural areas possibly present in the territory and of the landscape; the care of urban furniture; accessibility for all without limitations. These are just some of the indicators that guide the program and will be susceptible to changes, with a view to continuous improvement and maximum involvement of Italian municipalities.

"Spighe Verdi" is based on FEE's thirty-year experience, present in 76 Countries, in the management of the international "Blue Flag" program, a voluntary eco-label assigned to the seaside tourist resorts. agriculture it has a priority role in the "Spighe Verdi" program, since it is here that the true cultural revolution must take place. From this need arises the collaboration between FEE Italia and Confagricoltura, already engaged on this front with the EcoCloud project which inspires many of the selected indicators.

"This extraordinary result is the result of the close and firm bond between agriculture and tourism." He explains Marco Neri, president of Confagricoltura Tuscany “Many of our companies have known with intelligence and ability to transform over the years, responding to the challenges of an evolving market and they have done so never betraying their nature as agricultural realities. For this reason it is essential that those who put the link with the territory and its specificities in the first place. can be put in a position to work. "

"It is with satisfaction that we are also announcing for the 2019 an increase in the rural municipalities that have obtained the Green Spikes, well 42 - said Claudio Mazza, president of FEE Italy -.
