The careful rereading of the territorial and environmental conditions of the Chianti estates of Rocca delle Macìe in the last twenty years it has been fundamental to mature the decision to put hand on two of the historical labels of the Castellina in Chianti: the "Ser Gioveto" and the "Roccato".

The "Ser Gioveto "is the wine that Italo Zingarelli has dedicated to his son Sergio, fruit of the main vine of the Chianti area, also known as Sangioveto. It was born in 1985 - the year in which Sergio Zingarelli began to work alongside his father in the business - from Sangiovese grapes with the addition, over the years, of a small portion of merlot and cabernet sauvignon.

From the 2015 vintage, this label returns to highlight the centrality of Sangiovese even more, loved by "SerGio", presenting it on the market as Chianti Classico Riserva Sergioveto, produced with pure Sangiovese and expression of the single "Pian della Casina" Vineyard. From now on we will write Sergioveto, as suggested also by the graphic restyling which adds to the label the stylization of the vineyard from which the grapes for its production come. Of the Chianti Classico Riserva Sergioveto 2015, 6.500 bottles were produced.

The "Roccato”Is the supertuscan historian of Rocca delle Macìe. Produced in the first vintage in 1988, it was conceived as an equal blend of sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon, as a wine representative of the company's know-how, of the elaboration of Tuscan with an international outlook. It is a wine that over the years shows how strong the influence of the terroir can be in the adaptable cabernet sauvignon, which in its most successful expressions seems "chianteggi", that is, it is able to aromatically return unmistakably Chianti characteristics linked precisely to the territory and not properly to the grape variety.

The baggage of this experience led to the decision to create, starting from the 2015 vintage, a Roccato Igt Toscana that it was a pure cabernet sauvignon, obtained from the single “Poggio alle Pecchie” vineyard, planted in 1996. 2015 bottles of the Roccato Igt Toscana 6.500 were produced.

Il renovation project started by the patron Sergio Zingarelli twenty years ago, which sees at the center the strong territorial roots of the wines produced in Rocca Classico by Rocca delle Macìe, è driven by the desire to achieve ever higher results and it is constantly evolving.

Confirmations came from the rapid affirmation of niche wines belonging to the Gran Selezione typology, namely the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sergio Zingarelli and the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva di Fizzano, and the more than positive results obtained by the pivotal wines of the "Mondo Rocca" from over forty years, the Chianti Classico Zingarelli Family and the Chianti Classico Riserva Zingarelli Family.
