The XXXI edition of one of the longest-running festivals in Tuscany, Sounds and Colors in Tuscany, which will take place in the territory of Rignano sull'Arno in different locations - as per tradition - was born under the banner of courage. The courage to carry on a cultural tradition, in compliance with the rules of distancing for post-Covid shows, with the awareness that, even by changing the rules, such a festival can and must be done.

For this the Municipality of Rignano - and the artistic director Fabrizio Checcacci - they decided not to stand still but to relaunch the festival formula, both in the number of shows (which this year are seven, one more than the previous edition) and in the quality of the proposal, thus creating a billboard that ranges from theater to jazz, from classical to experimentation: they range from a prestigious name of our cinema such as that of Giorgio Tirabassi who makes a show on the genius of Django Reinhard, to the poetic vocal experiments of Albert Ivy, from the Mystical Cabaret of Andrea Kaemmerle to the virtuoso guitar of Finaz of Bandabardò, from the collaboration with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino which from year to year is renewed with precious excursions into the world of musicals (with Heron Borelli e Daniela Pobega), jazz and bossa nova (with the trio Talents / Polidori / Rossini).

The locations chosen for this Festival (The Volognano Castle, the Pieve di San Leolino and San Pietro in Perticaia, to which this year the Iris Room in Località Cellai and Piazza della Vittoria, the central square of Rignano sull'Arno are added) will have a limited number of places and, due to restrictions on anti-Covid safety regulations, you can access the evenings by reservation only on 055 8347833 - 055 8347820 (during office hours) or by email by writing to or, with collection and payment of the ticket at the town of Rignano sull'Arno at least 24 hours before the concert. In case of non-confirmation, the seats will be made available again.

If the bookings are higher than the capacity, the shows will be streamed on computer platforms with a limited number that will be indicated to the excess bookings each time. -
The concert on August 30th is free with reservations required.

“Solos” is a unique show created by the extraordinary vocal talent of Albert Hera.
Inspired by the African figure of the griot, Albert Hera proposes himself as a narrator of sounds who, through his voice, guides the audience on an evocative journey through music through space and time. The vocal stories lead the audience from classical music to jazz, blues, world music, experimental, electronic as well as original songs. The unique style of Albert Hera is characterized by the evocative power of the language of sounds beyond words, sounds that tell images and distant places, sounds that evoke the story of his life that as a formidable saxophonist led him to find his full expressiveness in his voice. artistic. "Solos" is a show without equal, in which improvisation seasoned with theatrical elements is the way to share with the public the true essence of making music and making art.

Saturday September 5th

An evening dedicated to the great classics of bossa nova and Latin jazz with three of the best Tuscan talents.

Tuesday 8 September
Guitar solo
IRIS ROOM, Cellai - 21.15 pm

Finaz, guitarist of the Bandabardò several times awarded as the best Italian guitarist, brings his solo concert to the festival, with original songs from his repertoire and reworkings for solo guitar. Finaz guitar solo is an acoustic guitar concert, but not only. The project is realized through a total relationship between the musician and the instrument, bringing the sonic possibilities of the Martin di Finaz to maximum expansion. Almost completely based on original compositions, the concert is presented as a tribute to the six strings that, from song to song, transforms into a small orchestra: from the acoustic guitar the sounds of drums, bass, wind sections, all played on the thin wire. as an equilibrist of the virtuoso Tuscan guitarist. All without bases, loops or recorded parts of any kind. Finaz moves safely between reggae and psychedelia, virtuosity and expressive intensity, polyphonicity and romanticism, supported by his very solid fingerpicking technique, for a concert that, while it is certainly a must for guitarists and guitar enthusiasts, does not fail to involve even the most distant audience. from the cult of the six strings.

Thursday September 10

Two of the major interpreters of the Italian musical in an evening homage to Italian and international musical theater. Heron Borelli was Febo and Gringoire in the original Notre Dame and has held numerous roles in internationally imported musicals. Daniela Pobega is the Italian artist with the greatest performances in the temple of the musical: she was the main voice of Dirty Dancing in London and Naala of the Lion King in Madrid for many years, as well as having interpreted at home, leading roles in Pinocchio, Jesus Christ Superstar and Little Shop of Horror, among others.

Saturday September 12th
IRIS ROOM, Cellai - 21.15 pm

Andrea Kaemmerle and his soldier Svejk return to the Sounds and Colors festival.
The clown-soldier Svejk with the stringy hair of a naive and stupid scarecrow and the red nose of a drunkard, will tell us anecdotes and give us advice to jump the obstacles of life and laugh about the most common anguishes and fears. And so in an overwhelming vortex of Balkan music and consoling and invigorating stories (which are handed down to us from all over the world), we will spend a volcanic, comic, desecrating and tragically prophetic evening. Cabaret because Svejk / Kaemmerle will play with the public more than ever with his usual and poetic dreamy wickedness, Mystical because he will let himself be led by the energies of the evening, involving us in a journey of which we may not know the end.
