The "Chianti Literary Prize", An event of national importance in the cultural field has reached its 33 edition this year, at the Villa il Poggiale in San Casciano Val di Pesa, the finalists of the 2020 edition were presented: Valerio Aiolli (Nero Ananas, Voland publisher), Mariapia De Conto (The silence of Veronika, Santi Quaranta ed.), Enrico Ianniello (The company of illusions, Feltrinelli), Andrea Molesini (Where a disconsolate shadow seeks me, Sellerio), Gesuino Nemus (The catechism of the sheep, Elliot).
To the evening, promoted by Rotary San Casciano Chianti sponsors of the cultural event, spoke with the President Leandro Galletti, Writer Paolo Codazzi, creator of the Prize, and the Mayors of Greve in Chianti Paolo Sottani, of San Casciano in Val di Pesa Roberto Ciappi, by Barberino Tavarnelle David Baroncelli and Impruneta Alessio Calamandrei, with the Councilor for Culture of the municipality of Greve Lorenzo Lotti. At the presentation meeting of the finalists also Massimiliano Pescini, former mayor of San Casciano who has always followed and supported the review.
"Each author presents the selected book individually to readers, in the locality of Chianti and the municipalities affiliated with the event" - he says Paolo Codazzi, organizer of the event.
The finalist authors will meet in five Municipalities of the Florentine and Sienese Chianti area a popular jury of 350 readers (unique and special data, with the involvement of local libraries), in meetings that will be held on Saturday, at 17 pm, in the locality of Chianti.
"This is a unique national award," he says Paolo Sottani, mayor of Greve in Chianti - "in fact, it is the readers who choose the winner."
Of particular significance is the contribution of the Rotary Club San Casciano Chianti, which together with the Prize, over the years has taken charge and carried out many social and cultural promotion projects.
"For us, Rotary is an opportunity to sponsor a highly relevant cultural activity," he says Leandro Galletti, president of the Rotary Club San Casciano Chianti - "promoting and financing this kind of activity is one of the mission of our club."
The organization of the prize is already working to expand the event with a section dedicated to children.
"Encouraging children to read so that we are also the youngest to be part of this experience, which is also important for readers, he concludes Paul Sottani.
The final ceremony will take place in June 2020.
