A story that is renewed in the wake of a memory preserved in every square, in every street, in every parish that make the landscape a universe of stories and life

The earliest evidence of the town of Pontassieve dates back to the Middle Ages when the Florentine Republic built the castle of Sant'Angelo. Subsequently the construction of the Medici bridge on the Sieve river determined the new name of the locality.
Its bridge connects the old village of Pontassieve with the village of San Francesco of the municipality of Pelago. It has a structure consisting of two brick arches that rest, in the middle, on a sturdy intermediate pinewood in strong stone.

In the main square stands the Palazzo Trombetta, a place where the coats of arms of the various podestàs who have lived there are still preserved
