Historical edition for the guide Pizzerias of Italy of the Gambero Rosso. Made in collaboration with the Sannio Consortium Tutela Vini, the sixth edition, held in Naples, saw for the first time next to wedges and wheels the appearance of the votes.

"The level of preparation our pizza chefs have reached is really high to the point that this year it was really difficult to select", say from the Red shrimp. In fact, more than fifty are the new entries in the guide. The votes introduced in this 2019 have examined three fundamental voices: pizza, service, environment. Categories: Neapolitan pizza, Italian style, tasting, sliced.

First Franco Pepe and Simone Padoan (96/100). Second place for Renato Bosco and Enzo Coccia (both at 94/100). Gabriele Bonci at the top of the interpreters of pizza in the pan with 95/100. The award for the Best drinks menu goes to ZenZero Osteria della Pizza in Pisa and Oliva - From Concettina to the Tre Santi in Naples. The I Maestri dell'impasto award to Gennaro Battiloro and to Francesco and Salvatore Salvo. The Award for the Best Pizzas of the Year to Gigi Pipa di Este (PD) for the pizza tasting category; Giangi's Pizza in Arielli (CH) for the Italian pizza category; Guglielmo Vuolo of Verona for the Neapolitan pizza category; Brescia food for the slice pizza category; Seu Pizza Illuminati in Rome for sweet pizza.

Satisfied the President of the Red shrimp Paolo Cuccia "Pizza is one of the symbols of Italianness in the world. The sixth edition of the Pizzerie d'Italia guide is even more attentive to this great national heritage, able to capture the small details that make the difference, mainly the use of quality raw materials. Entering the votes, Gambero Rosso has decided to give even more importance to the art of the dough, to the enhancement of local products and to the myriad of excellences that have always distinguished Italy and its biodiversity ".
