Nubicuculia, a city that was born suspended in the clouds of all times, wears the dreams and thoughts in freedom of the master Giovanni Colazzo. Visions in midair yet strongly anchored to the ground, in a country estate, in the heart of Chianti. Where reality is turned upside down and trying to escape from the cage that holds fears and anxieties recluded is man, while two-legged friends live in contact with nature, flapping their wings with different colors, shapes and sizes and love the life. An opportunity to escape from reality or the desire to imagine and build a better world with the culture and poetry of contemporary art? The artist from San Casciano tries to reflect by making about thirty birds, a symbol of independence, peace and tolerance, free and resident in the hills of San Casciano in Val di Pesa.

The staff of the sculptor Giovanni Colazzo exhibits a kaleidoscope of free and flying birds which, made of iron and colored aluminum, animate the rigorously en plein air setting. The event, in compliance with antiCovid security measures, has been prepared and will be available in the garden of the artist's property where his atelier is located. “It is the virtuous example of how art is the daughter of the territory in which it is born - declares the curator - the human and professional blend that combines creativity and hospitality is the added value of Giovanni Colazzo. The artist opens the doors of his own experience, communicates and transmits to the territory and the community the life that swarms in the laboratory-places in which he works. Art becomes an act of love and sharing ".

The personal "Nubicuculia" draws inspiration from the contents, always current, of the Greek comedy of Aristophanes and more generally of the theater, as a key to understanding the strengths and weaknesses of society. But to constitute the main source of inspiration for the research and experimentation of the master Colazzo is the nature that, as a citizen of the Chianti, loves to observe in its many forms, a distinctive trait that is reflected in the multifacetedness of the materials and techniques used. Instinct or rationality? Chaos or order? The answer lies in the three-dimensional representation of reality that mediates and interprets the balance point in every aspect of life. The event, organized under the patronage of the Municipality, will be open until midnight today for small groups. Reservations are required. Please contact Lucia Palermo cell. 339 2608456.
