"Gabrieli" Brass Quintet
The "Gabrieli" Brass Quintet was formed within the Milan Conservatory and was commissioned by Luigi Bascapè trumpet teacher in the same institute. His will came from the request of the Director of the Conservatory who wanted music at all levels and with all sorts of instruments to be brought to the Milanese schools.
From there the idea of creating a group that would bring music to schools but that was also a working laboratory with pupils and former pupils, assisted by teachers, and could also be aimed at concerts, held mostly in Northern Italy, to start students to the profession with scheduled deadlines.
A great collaboration between teachers and students activated in particular by the Masters Luigi Bascapè, formerly the Trumpet of the Rai Symphony Orchestra of Milan and Angelo Borroni, horn teacher in the same conservatory, musician who boasts a very dense concert activity (Teatro alla Scala di Milan, Rai Symphony Orchestra of Milan, Arena di Verona, etc.).
The components of the Quintet imaginatively exploit the qualities and potential of the individual instruments, making all the technical and expressive possibilities known to the public, ranging from music of all ages and genres.
