My eyes lit up when I learned that JR was going to do one of his fantastic installations in Florence. I follow and admire Jean René, one of the most important contemporary artists in the world, since he covered the facades of the skyscrapers of New York with the giant posters of the dancers.

From then on, his trompe-l'oeil in black and white they have covered the most important places, from the Louvre to Ellis Island, from Brazil to Australia: a phenomenal artistic career and installations always full of meaning and strong emotional impact.

This is also the case with The wound, which has been covering the façade of Palazzo Strozzi, an imaginary gap 28 meters high in which some masterpieces of Florentine art can be glimpsed, to underline the pain of this long year of closure of museums and places of culture.

In the days before the inauguration I had already gone to peek a couple of times while they were setting up but seeing it completed was really exciting!

And you, have you already seen it?
