Active citizenship, responsibility and civil commitment in memory of the massacres of Capaci and via d'Amelio. Multiply your memory with words and images, share the anniversary of some of the darkest pages carved in recent Italian history with a viral memory printed, posted, virtually spread on the pages and social profiles of citizens of all ages. It's a social flash mob, what the Municipalities of Barberino Tavarnelle, Greve in Chianti and San Casciano in Val di Pesa, have decided to run on the web to recall the National Day of Legality, established on the day when the Capaci massacre took place.

On May 23, 1992, along the edges of the A29 Palermo Mazara del Vallo motorway, at the height of the Capaci junction, a charge of TNT was detonated at the passage of the five machines of Giovanni Falcone's escort. The mafia terrorist attack took the life of Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo, also a magistrate, and three policemen of the escort Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Dicillo and Vito Schifani. Fifty-seven days later a new attack signed Casa Nostra sowed six more victims. They answered the names of judge Paolo Borsellino and the five agents of his escort, Agostino Catalano, Emanuela Loi, Vincenzo Li Muli, Walter Eddie Cosina and Claudio Traina.

27 years after the massacres, the municipal administrations launch the proposal to collectively share the values of the Day of Legality. The invitation is addressed to citizens, families, students and teachers to join the initiative # inreteperlalegalità by publishing an image and a phrase dedicated to Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino on their social tools.

"We ask citizens to keep the light of memory on - say the mayors Roberto Ciappi, Paul Sottani e David Baroncelli - in difficult times such as those we are experiencing due to the pandemic. This is a phase of great social fragility caused by the impoverishment of our economic fabric within which organized crime could wedge and strengthen its criminal system. The task of every citizen is not only to prevent, defend and contrast every form of illegality in daily life but to make ethically responsible and aware behaviors flourish, aimed at respect and the good of all. Above all, we ask young people to bring out commitment and solidarity by joining our call to disseminate through the channels they use most frequently, Whastapp, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, a very short text, a reflection, a thought, accompanied by photos, on the legality. We want to honor and commemorate our heroes, the courage of those who have put themselves at the service of our country. Now more than ever it is time to affirm the culture of legality, a seed that must be cultivated in the field of education and training with the collective goal of investing in the citizens of the future ".

The flash mob, promoted by the Municipalities of the Florentine Chianti, is on the program Saturday 23 May starting at 10 am. The municipal administrations will publish on their social channels (Fb and Youtube pages) the thoughts and photos of the citizens sent in the previous days to the press office of the Municipalities:
