Simplification and flexibility of regulations, attention to the landscape through active protection, re-use of existing buildings, revitalization of the productive fabric and new opportunities for the agricultural world with a return to the ancient, to the multifunctional dimension of the Chianti farm. Seventeen years after the previous urban planning instrument, the Municipality of Greve in Chianti, the first in Tuscany to have approved the Structural Plan and the Operational Plan in compliance with the Regional Urban Law 65 / 2014 and coordinated with the LR 41 / 2018, outlines a vision of the modern, clear, simple future in full compliance with the needs of the territory and the Chianti communities.

The municipal council gave the go-ahead with the approval, voted in the last session, of the Structural Plan and the Operational Plan, to have completed the complex and articulated path aimed at adapting the urban planning instrumentation. A decisive step, the one promoted by the Sottani council, which determines a turning point in the choices of territorial planning destined to build a new face for the Chianti and to support the many economic, environmental and productive vocations of the whole area. The launch of the municipal council is particularly important for the historical result, obtained at a distance from 17 years by the previous instrument. "The last Structural Plan was approved in the distant 2002 while the Town Planning Regulations go back to the 2003 - he explains the mayor Paolo Sottani - we have fulfilled the objective we had set ourselves with our electoral program by keeping the commitments made with citizens and economic activities. Urban planning has been a key issue that has characterized almost five years of my mandate, I express great satisfaction for the result achieved that will benefit our community ”.

After having suffered major setbacks, over the years, linked to the expiry of the urban planning regulation of 2008 and accompanied by blocked construction sites and legal difficulties, the municipal car is ready to restart thanks to the operational momentum and the vision of the future that the joint Sottani has designed in close collaboration with the offices, in particular with the technical area and the professionals involved, who have carried out work of the highest quality. "The concrete and sustainable prospects outlined for the development of our territory - the mayor added - give form and content to the urban planning tools with which we will simplify the rules, make practices simpler, reduce time and costs and above all create conditions and stimuli ideals suitable to favor the growth of the entire Chianti area in economic and employment terms ".


The new urban planning tools of Greve in Chianti aim at the requalification of the existing and to guarantee the maximum attention to the quality of the projects and the landscape. "The new operational plan - adds the first citizen - is based on a greater focus on the landscape and the historical values ​​of the territory, in particular through the appropriate reuse of the existing building heritage; it also bets on the consolidation of economic activities in the area and on the development of new realities. As far as the agricultural world is concerned, the goal is to identify new opportunities for differentiation and integration, as well as for other activities such as manufacturing, which have a central role in the territory and can count, for example, on flexible rules ".

The Municipality can boast the conformation to the two fundamental superordinate instruments: the PIT-PPR and the Flood Risk Management Plan. "We are at the forefront of the most virtuous municipalities in the region - he adds - having all the instruments in compliance with the regulations. For the Municipality, it was certainly significant that they conducted their new studies related to geological, hydraulic and seismic fragility ".

"From this work a framework of environmental and landscape reference is born - he concludes - that will be placed at the base of every reflection on the future of Greve in Chianti, in a perspective in which sustainability, adaptation to climate change and quality of living and working, are the real issues that will test the capacity for innovation and local government ".
