Spit-roasted suckling pig in the square and red turnip timbales. The legume soup and the "favato", one of Federico II's favorite dishes. A buffet with strictly medieval dishes will accompany "Figures in concert", musical evening in "Opera and puppet show" which will officially open the shows along the Via Francigena in Piazza Santa Barbara, in the hilly village of Castelnuovo d'Elsa, Friday 5 October 2018, from 19.00 onwards.
Organized by the Municipality of Castelfiorentino in collaboration with local associations (in particular theGAT Theater Cultural Association), the evening will open with a presentation by Claudio Cinelli (director) and Sandra Bellucci (Teatrobria) by title "The Figure Theater in the Middle Ages", in which the spectators will be catapulted into a simple, exhilarating, immediate theatrical game.
Among the protagonists Claudio Cinelli, one of the most eclectic figures on the Italian theatrical artistic scene (his experiences range from theater to opera, to puppet theater) which will give life - before the concert - to a show in which everything must appear extremely candid, childish, to conceal the high technical difficulty compared to scores, rhythms, intonations, and to "give voice to the figures, interact with them, animate them, put themselves in competition, with an effect of daring doubling".
Following (19.30) the "Medieval buffet" with costumed figures to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the era with taste and smell. Among the delicacies, soup of legumes, the timbales of red turnips (which resisted well to the cold, making them suitable for times of famine), the "favato" (broad bean purée with wild chicory), and the roast suckling pig, a dish this last that in the Middle Ages only the nobles and the high clergy could be allowed.
The 21.20 is scheduled Concert, with Bianca Barsanti (soprano) and Alice Ulivi (piano): music by Puccini (Aria Musetta, Coro Muto), Boccherini (Scherzo), Delibes (Lakme '), Catalani (Walli), Saint Saens (Death of the Swan), Offenbach (La Bambola), Mozart (Regina notte), Bernstein (Candide).
