We can consider it a bistro, contaminated by the influence of the ancient Tuscan shop (the pizzicagnolo in Florence) rather than a Parisian brasserie, and instead we are in Florence, at Sweet Emporium, Where Fabio Barbaglini e Federica Luppi, couple in life and at work, I welcome customers to the sound of delicious sandwiches and highly sought-after glasses of wine.

Federica Luppi and Fabio Barbaglini

The atmosphere is familiar, each Tuesday from 18 to 20 on stage Happy fish: three particular wines by the glass, accompanied by a gourmet bite based on Conservas Emilia Cantabrian Anchovies. Thursday is the turn of the Happy Fuà: for tasting three labels ideal to enhance the taste of foie gras. Each glass will be accompanied by a taste of Fuà, the twisted foie gras from the Fiori di Spezie line, signed by Barbaglini himself and on sale exclusively at Dolce Emporio. Natural, with candied mandarin and Timut pepper, with strawberries in mustard and pink pepper and soon in other variations, to be tasted in preview, looking for the best glass to match.

A brief description of the wines for tasting follows:

Biancolella ischia 2019

Straw yellow with golden reflections, citrus nose with hints of yellow flowers and juniper. Fresh and mineral on the palate, with a bitter almond finish.

Mizzica Sicily Noto 2018

Straw yellow with golden reflections, sweet nose with hints of tropical fruit, jasmine and a fine spiciness. Soft and round palate, almond finish, beautiful minerality

Vike Vike Barbagia 2017

Amber yellow, aromas of candied fruit, raisins and yellow flowers, dry and savory palate, very clean on the palate.

Dolce emporio is a pleasant place in Florence where it is possible to taste refined sandwiches paired with unusual and fine wines by the glass, highly sought-after labels with unique and particular characters, a place recommended for all those who are looking for a different glass combined with exquisite gourmet sandwiches.
