Wine sometimes offers extraordinary opportunities for knowledge. TO Gaiole in Chianti will be so Saturday 27 October, in the prestigious setting of the former cellars, with the first edition of "Terre di Gaiole tasting", promoted by the Viticoltori di Gaiole association, in collaboration with the Municipality and with the support of the Consortium of Chianti Classico wine. A journey through the wines of Gaiole in Chianti with the tasting, for the first time ever, of 100 labels produced by 25 wineries in the area and a seminar entitled "The vintage 2016. Travel among Gaiole wines ".
The aim of the initiative is to tell the richness and variety of the wine production of a well-defined area, for a better understanding of the territory from the wine and oenological point of view. Here the wine production boasts a thousand-year tradition, which today is expressed in the denomination "Chianti Classico", known all over the world and recognizable by the famous logo of the Black Rooster. The Viticoltori di Gaiole association, born about a year ago, under the impulse of Francesco Ricasoli and Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti, puts small and large companies on the network, guaranteeing a more complete picture of the production of Chianti Classico in the land of Gaiole.
"It is undoubtedly an event - comments the mayor of Gaiole in Chianti, Michele Pescini - to promote in a single tasting the productions of a whole and well defined area from the oenological point of view, like that of Gaiole, able to express wines of great personality. Enhancing the Chianti wine history is an opportunity for tourism development and promotion important for all the Chianti Classico and, at the same time, a leap in quality of the producers themselves, thus confirming their bond of belonging to this territory. A bond of belonging felt by all the inhabitants of Gaiole, which makes us a community and represents an element of attraction towards the outside. With Terre di Gaiole our producers have done what in these times seems increasingly difficult: to unite in a common interest. "
"Our first public tasting - he says Francesco Ricasoli - wants to show the richness of expressive forms of our wines, and in particular of the Sangiovese, due to the great variety of soils, altitudes and microclimates inherent in the territory of the City of Gaiole and we have therefore grouped into our homogeneous areas identifying 4 distinct groups. We invite eno-enthusiasts to find out more in detail this great Chianti territory. "
The tasting at the Ex Cellars will be open from 11 in the morning to 19,30. Admission: 12 euro.
There will also be a refreshment point inside.
The seminar scheduled at 14 and 30, under the title "The vintage 2016 - A journey through the wines of Gaiole" will be led by Roberto Bellini, Ais vice president. Speakers: Francesco Ricasoli, of the Ricasoli company; Massimiliano Biagi, technical director of the Ricasoli company; oenologists Maurizio Castelli and Federico Staderini.
