The City Council of Bathroom a Ripoli, on the initiative of President Francesco Conti and with a unanimous decision by all the group leaders, has decided to donate to the Foundation the full amount of the contributions of the groups and the presidency for the current year. With a portion of the proceeds from the crowdfunding, the non-profit organization purchased a portable automatic respirator (for an amount of about 22 thousand euros), already delivered to the Intensive Care and Resuscitation department. Purchase over 2 FFP2 masks (125 of which have already arrived), 25 protective suits (XNUMX already in use) and two thermoscanners to measure temperature.
Also ordered twenty liters of hand sanitizing gel in preparation for the Military Pharmaceutical Institute. Eight "walkie talkies" are also expected shortly to allow Intensive Care medical and nursing staff to communicate with colleagues outside. In the same way, six tablets have been ordered by the non-profit organization and are expected for the days to come, which will allow Coronavirus patients to communicate with family members during the period of hospitalization and isolation.
"Important companies, individual citizens, institutions, associations: in this difficult period for all, generosity becomes a team game and our community is rediscovered more united than ever - comments the mayor Francesco Casini -. Each euro donated is a certificate of trust and attachment to the hospital of Santa Maria Annunziata, which also in this delicate situation is a point of reference for health at the regional level. It is a way of being next to the doctors, nurses and all hospital operators engaged in an unprecedented emergency, it means providing them with the weapons necessary to fight this hostile and terrible enemy. In addition to donating, and even if from a distance, we can do a lot to help them take care of all of us: following the rules, staying at home as much as possible, limiting contagion opportunities to a minimum.
