Everything is ready, at Villa Pecori Giraldi for the first Mugello festival of books and authors, "Literary congestion", born from an idea of the culture of the Municipality of Borgo San Lorenzo, in synergy with the Borghigian Pro Loco.
"Borgo San Lorenzo is once again the center of great animation - said the President of the Regional Council Eugenio Giani - thanks to the commitment of the directors, the mayor Paolo Omoboni and the culture councilor Cristina Bechi - the Mugello has become, to all effects, one of the cultural capitals of Tuscany ".
"At the center of the two days, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 November, there will be an all-round reading, with over eighty book presentations, to highlight local and non-local authors, but also to make our territory live, thanks to many side events ", said the mayor of Borgo San Lorenzo.
"Over the next weekend we will dive into the world of books and we will have the opportunity to read and appreciate paper," said regional councilor Fiammetta Capirossi. - Books not only lead us to know the world but also to be free, "he said, recalling the story of little Anne Frank.
The numbers of the two days are very respectable: over 60 the authors present, 15 the publishing houses involved starting from the Mugello to get to Florence, Rome, Milan. Villa Pecori will then turn into a huge library open to the public freely with presentations, workshops for children, readings, creative writing courses and moments of entertainment. A showcase for local authors, for emerging or already established writers, even at the national level.
Space therefore to books, authors, reading and writing in the rooms of the literary café, in the bookstore, in the literary salon or in the rooms with a wider audience, ready to host presentations, meetings with the authors, firmcopy, with particular attention to the local signatures and to the publishing scene of Mugello, which will culminate on Sunday 11 with the awarding of some prizes to the career of Mugello writers.
