We are now in the autumn, and having greeted the summer in the middle of the vineyards of Santo Stefano farm, a few nights ago, while the dazzling sunset blanketed the hills of Chianti and the evening slowly gave way to the starry night, it was without a doubt the best way to say goodbye.

The light breeze that moved the tablecloth of the beautiful aperitif table set among the vines full of grapes, the flickering flames of the torches, the rosé wine in the glasses and many smiles around: this was the beginning of the second of the two September evenings which this year have animated Santo Stefano farm, near Greve in Chianti.

The excellent wines met the music of Lorenzo Pampaloni on the guitar e Isacco Burchietti on the violin, very good, with pieces by Astor Piazzolla and our unforgettable Ennio Morricone.

In addition to this, the traditional Tuscan dishes, from Pasta and chickpeas to the Tripe, from an exquisite Francesina (for non-Tuscans it is boiled beef sautéed in onions) to the inevitable Schiacciata with grapes, all home cooked, they met the Art commedy with the fun pieces of Roberto Andrioli.

And then they, the magnums of Grand Selection 2011 Santo Stefano, uncorked and tasted for the occasion: a Chianti Classico 9 year old with a wonderful story to tell. Heartfelt thanks to the family Bendinelli for the invitation to this wonderful evening.
