The new appointments of the Guest cycle are back. Friday 12 October at 18.00 will be the turn of Luke Scarlini, writer and playwright who will take a cue from the exhibition Artists at the Theater, dedicated to a selection of sketches made for the Florentine theater by the most important artists of the twentieth century. Scarlini will hold an intervention dedicated to "Future / Past: Enrico Prampolini and Gino Severini at the Maggio".
Two weeks later, Friday 26 October (18.00 hours), appointment with "The reality of the opera: Derek Jarman and Bob Wilson at the Maggio" that will see Scarlini again protagonist. The writer tells two fundamental paths of the '900 theater, between the resonances of the great Futurist lesson and the time of the neo-avant-gardes. The twentieth century seen from the specola of the longest-running festival in Italy, in the plots of four protagonists of twentieth-century art, now on display at the museum with their works.
The meetings are flanked by collective exposition Artists at the Theater, to Museo Novecento until 4 November 2018, created in collaboration with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Theater Foundation, which collects a selection of sketches, sketches and models signed by Gino Severini, Enrico Prampolini, Mario Sironi, Fausto Melotti, Toti Scialoja, Franco Angeli, Piero Sadun , Piero Dorazio, Bob Wilson, Derek Jarman, Giacomo Manzù and Giulio Paolini.
Luca Scarlini is a writer, dramatist for theaters and music, performance artist, storyteller. He teaches narrative techniques at the Scuola Holden in Turin and has collaborated with numerous Italian and European theater institutions, including the National Theater of London, the Lod a Ghent company, the Opera XXI Festival in Antwerp, La Batie and the theater amstramgram in Geneva. He writes for music and dance: from 2004 to 2008 he is artistic consultant for the MilanOltre festival at the Teatro dell'Elfo in Milan. He has a large activity as a storyteller in solo and alongside musicians, dancers and actors, in theaters, museums and historical places. Voice of Radio Tre, he conducted the National Museum program, curated exhibitions on the relationship between art, music, theater and fashion.
